Healing for Heroes
Healing for Heroes Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Healing for Heroes is a program designed exclusively to help First Responders, Veterans and Active Duty Military Members struggling with issues related to trauma, stress, and compassion fatigue. These significant factors can impact an individual’s ability to adapt to the unique challenges they face every day. Keeping others safe often involves witnessing and experiencing events that are difficult to process. These stressful life events can change one’s ability to develop healthy coping behaviors that impact their decision making, emotional well-being, families, physical health and even job performance.
Individuals with some of the following signs and symptoms could benefit from treatment:
- Drug and Alcohol usage
- Difficulty regulating emotions
- Stuffing emotions and memories
- Always in crisis
The treatment focus will be resilience therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients to improve coping skills, better manage adversity, adapt to change, change faulty beliefs, improve problem solving and overcome challenges.
Clients receive intensive outpatient therapy 3 times weekly for 3 hours a day. Medication management is available by a Psychiatrist. At the completion of the program clients will be encouraged to continue with their recovery by meeting with an individual therapist. We can offer referrals as needed.
